2017 Reflections …

December 31, 2017
Blog post

With only a few hours left of Hogmanay I thought it would be fitting to reflect back on 2017 and the past 12 months. There is no partying here tonight … in fact I am currently in bed watching The Zookeepers Wife as I am typing this!

Rock and Roll eh?

Anyway … Reflecting back over the past year there has been some really good memories but it was also the year that my gorgeous Benji sadly passed over to Rainbow Bridge. In truth I still find it hard to talk about it so you can read a little bit more about it here

So what were my 2017 Highlights ? …

♥  Moving into our 1st home together

♥  Receiving stable scan results in both March and September

Installing an updating a new WordPress theme on the blog

♥  Being selected to work with Tesco on their Coeliac Awareness Week Campaign

Discovering my creative side and my inner crafter

Buying and completing my first upcycled piece of furniture

♥  Lots of little stay-cations … We went to York, Liverpool, London, The Lake District and Newcastle

Celebrating our 1st Christmas together in our new home

Being part of the studio audience for Philip Schofield’s Tv shows 5 Gold Rings

I am sure there have been many many more but these are the standout ones for sure.

I have lots of idea’s for the direction that I want to take the blog in 2018. I want to include more posts on Mindfulness and positivity , there will also be the return of my weekly blog linky #SundaySmiles.

In non blogging life I want to get out and do more! I have finally persuaded Mr Sparkles to join the gym with me and I have signed up for a beginners Yoga class. I am also getting back to taking some dance classes that I used to enjoy.

2018 is going to be there year that I definitely work on me more …. Slowly I am getting my confidence back and I want to try out new makeup and skincare routines and clothing styles.

As some of you may know in 2016 I lost a lot of friends when I was diagnosed with Cancer and I would love to meet some new people in 2018. I treasure the friends that I have dearly but it would be nice to have some new people in my life as at times I do feel a bit lonely.

Anyway … on that note I will end this post by thanking each and every one of you who takes the time to read and comment on my posts and I wish you all a happy and healthy 2018

What do you mean “lost friends when you had cancer”? You mean people who abandoned you when you ill? Or friends you met in treatment? Are you in remission now?

Moving into your first home together must have been lovely. It was a very nice moment for my husband and I when we did years ago. Looks like you’ve had a lovely year and some great opportunities especially working with Tesco.

I am so sorry to hear that some friends were selfish and abandoned your friendship when you needed them the most but I would not let that bother you they can’t be true friends. You have had a tough time but try and put that behind I am looking forward to your positivity posts in 2018. Wishing you all the best for 2018.
