#GlutenFreeEdinburgh … Cool Jade Chinese

Chinese food is one of my favourite cusines and there are simply not enough restaurants that will offer a gluten free chinese meal so when I came across this amazing Chinese Restaurant from a Gluten Free Facebook group that I am a member of I knew I had to pay a visit.

Located just across the road from Edinburgh Zoo it was perfect location for dinner since we were visiting the Zoo that day.

The Cool Jade has a small but pleasant Gluten Free menu and I was so pleased to see sweet and sour chicken there.

This is my all time favourite chinese dish and I was interested to see how it would be served.

As you can see from the Pictures it was a very generous sized portion and I ordered a side of gluten free egg fried rice which was cooked perfectly.

It was more than enough for one person and I am so glad that we did not order any starters as I would have really struggled to finish my main.

The staff were really attentive and when my dish was delivered there was a little flag in my rice indicating that it was gluten free.

Price wise – it was pretty reasonable considering we were ordering off the a-la-carte menu and the portion sizes.

We are already planning our next visit it was that good!

  1. Hello,

Thanks a lot for sharing with us your experience at Cool Jade. I am a Spanish girl also running a blog with my gluten free experiences all over the world. We have spent our summer living in Scotland and in some cases it have been really difficult to find a place to eat gluten free. Beside, Scotland has give us a lot of oportunities, because in some different places that we have been it has become very hard. It is why we decided to do a gluten free blog, where we talk about how survive eaten gluten free while we are travelling. We ate at Cool Jade this summmer and we areally enjoyed this place, but unfortunatelly, we didn´t take a picture. This is why I have taken your picture and put in my blog. For sure, there happears the link to your blog. I hope you don´t mind! Thanks a lot for your post! Maybe you consider to travel to Spain and also enjoy the gluten free options that we offer.

    All the best,
    Alicia.
