I have been trying to think up some new recipes to try in the kitchen for date night with my boyfriend as he is the worlds fussiest eater. If its not beige and deep fried then he aint eating it!!
This is where this brilliant little book comes in handy. The Date Night Cookbook* by Rebecca Warbis is full of great recipes to try for alternative date nights and days.
Today is pancake tuesday or shrove tuesday as its otherwise known as. I must admit I dont normally partake in the making of my own pancakes as i am a little bit useless in the kitchen so I was so excited to see a fabulous recipe for pancakes and we decided to give them a go last night for our date night in.
Now i had to adapt the recipe slightly due to my gluten intolerance and i swapped vanilla extract for almond extract. I do love the nuttiness of the almond extract!
The recipe was super easy to follow and made a decent sized amount of pancakes. We managed 10 but im sure you would get loads more if you used a smaller spoon. We used a soup ladel for ease.
There are some fantastic date ideas in the book and one of my next date ideas is the movie marathon!!
I wont spoil the book too much for you but if you are looking for new foods and recipes to try with your special someone then this is the book for you. It is always nice to try something new once in a while and you never know …. your other half might even turn out to be the next masterchef! 🙂
